What better place than the US Post Office parking lot for God to call a chance meeting to speak a divine word in season by a stranger, a messenger, a prophet... Sista Melody Jackson? 

When I thought that I was done writing "Tenderness," Sista Melody prayed that I would receive the words that God inspired her to share with me that afternoon.  In choosing to receive her message from God, I gave the true "Healer" His rightful place in "our song." 

Sista Melody has an amazing gift of being able to speak the truth about things yet unseen.  I truly thank her for inspiration and pray that Melody Jackson Ministries will continue "Making a Spiritual & Professional Difference in the Lives of Others..... For God."

I actively support and applaud you in your efforts and I sincerely wish you all the luck and blessings God can muster in your quest to prevent abuse, to inform others and to enlighten the masses of the otherwise deaf and dumb to the plight of the spousal or family abused.

Someone once said that the shame and the blatant action of abuse does not rest with the abuser, however the shame squarely rests with the inaction of others. 

As a child, I experienced physical abuse and now in my forties I still find myself at the brink of tears and shame, for myself and for others, who find themselves victims and succumb to the woes of abuse.  The effects are lasting, damaging and sometimes serves as enablers to many "would be" abusers thus perpetuating the almost endless cycle of  abuse to be carried on from generation to generation.

You have a lofty goal E.  Not many can endeavor to take on this type of life-long undertaking however in your hands, I find it quite doable.  You can count on me for what ever support you need.  Like illicit substances, abuse promotes a "high" if you will, to the   abuser. It's addictive and only gets worse as time and the abuse continues unchecked. The abuser must be detoxified if we are ever to achieve any progress or cessation of the rampant and almost acceptable abuse in our society.

Domestic violence continues to rage at epidemic proportions. As the reigning Ms American Beauties Plus 2005-2006, during my year of pageantry, I have met several women and some men who have been victims of domestic violence.  I am so pleased to be a huge supporter of E. Walter Smith and the Tenderness Campaign.  His song TENDERNESS is a true testimony of how one's life can be changed with the support of a loved one, family and friends.  The verse that affects me the most is  "Let me heal your bitterness with a little tenderness"!  What a powerful verse.  As one who has shunned many relationships because of the fear of being violated again, that one sentence makes me realize that there is hope for victims and I am so pleased to have finally found someone who heals me with tenderness.  Thank God E wrote that song.

I urge you to support the Tenderness Campaign if not for yourself but for your family and your friends.  ALL YOU NEED IS TENDERNESS.
